Where to Place Video on a SaaS Website: Homepage, Product or Pricing Page?

Decide what video belongs on a SaaS homepage, product page, or pricing page, and how to place it so it supports the page’s main decision.

A SaaS website video works best when it answers the question a visitor has on that page. A homepage visitor may need a quick explanation of the product category, while someone on a feature page may want to see a specific workflow. Placement should follow the page’s job, not a rule that every page needs a video.

Homepage: explain the product quickly

Use the homepage video to help a new visitor understand who the product serves, what problem it addresses, and what makes its approach relevant. Keep the story broad enough for the main audience but specific enough to avoid generic claims. A short overview can sit beside a clear headline and next step.

Do not make visitors watch a video to discover basic information. Put the core value in visible text too, and use a strong poster image so people can choose to play. If the homepage serves several audiences, link them to the most relevant product or use-case page instead of trying to cover every path in one video.

Product page: demonstrate one workflow

A product or feature page is a better place for a focused walkthrough. Show the starting point, the important actions, and the result. Keep the example aligned with the page’s topic; a feature page about reporting should not send viewers through an unrelated tour of the whole platform.

For interface-heavy products, use a clean, legible screen recording or animation. Add callouts only where they reduce ambiguity. Pair the video with written feature details so visitors can scan, compare, and revisit the information.

Pricing page: answer buying questions

A pricing page video should resolve a real source of uncertainty, such as what is included, how setup works, or which plan fits a particular use case. A general brand film usually does not answer those questions. If pricing depends on team size or configuration, avoid implying that one example applies to everyone.

Keep important plan terms, limitations, and next steps in text. Video can clarify an offer, but it should not replace information a buyer needs to compare plans or share internally.

Check the placement, not just the play count

For each page, state the question the video should answer and what a viewer should do next. Then compare engagement with useful page actions, such as reaching a demo request form, opening a feature, or continuing to pricing details. Use analytics to understand behavior, while recognizing that page activity does not by itself prove the video caused an enquiry.

Keep autoplay off with sound, provide captions, and check that the player does not push the page’s main message or call to action out of view on mobile.
